But what I need is not keeping 2 copy of htdig database so that the
search engine is available every moment. What I like to have is a
quicker way to update the database, because htdig take really much
resource and very long time to complete.

According to you message, do you meant that I can just run:

/usr/bin/htdig
/usr/bin/htnotify

to update?
