I have noticed a problem with the boolean search (htdig version 3.2.0b4-1).
If a search is made with a phrase that contains a boolean operator (and the
method is set to boolean) then no results page is produced, e.g. a boolean
search for the search term "dog and cat" causes problems.
This is true and it's pretty much how every other search engine seems to do it.around it, it is a phrase search, regardless of whether or not you have something in the quotes that looks like a boolean operator.
This should be fixed in current snapshots. What snapshot of 3.2.0b4 are you using again? You said "3.2.0b4-1" which isn't a version string that we've released. Or are you using an RPM installation? If so, where did you get the RPM?for additional stop words. If I recall correctly this problem arises anytime that a phrase search contains a stop word that is bracketed by non-stop words.
