OK, I had some more time to spend on this...

I did seem to have two config files... so the mods I made to one did not reflect on the results.

I did have the common dir point to the same place as the db dir, it is now pointing to the directory where the header.html and footer.html and other stuff is.

Thanks for helping me resolve this.

However...

I STILL have the problems with "drama hour" as a search phrase, not finding "drama.html" in the top ten hits. even though the drama.html page is the only page that has <TITLE>Drama Hour</TITLE> and <H1>Drama Hour</H1> and all the alt tags are <IMG ALT="drama hour">

the drama.html page is found if I type something unique to the drama.html page, so I know it is indexed.

Also, almost each page on the site has a link to the "drama.html" page, shouldn't this raise the score of drama.html? Instead, it seems that each page linking to drama.html gets a higher score and shows up on top...

here are the links:

http://www.knx1070.com/search.html
http://www.knx1070.com/htdigknx.config.txt

try searching for "drama hour"
try searching for "Johnny investigates strange death insurance client"

the former brings up 135 hits and drama.html is in thirteen place with only 3 stars

the later only finds the drama.html

the weird thing is that "street smarter" brings up 1221 matches, though this time the "real page" is in number two position, even though "street smarter" is NOT in the <TITLE> not in <H1> and not in <IMG ALT>.... It is probably pure luck it came up at the second position...

what am I doing wrong...

Thanks,

-avi
