[htdig] accents

how come the accents on one page get indexed properly but not on another?

<li><a href="au_bord_du_lethe.html">Au Bord du L&eacute;th&eacute;</a></li>

accents in index

but the page it links to which has the same text in title and h1 does not show up in search.
