Is this the EXACT message you get?   It may be that Doc2html.pl is unable to open a file to find its magic number.  The filename should not be 'filename', which suggests that your doc2html.pl has been corrupted.  The latest version includes the line:     $Input = $ARGV[0] or die "No filename given\n";   in sub init, which sets the filename to the first argument passed by htdig.    -- David Adams Information Systems Services Southampton University ----- Original Message ----- From: Zachary Jenks To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, December 02, 2002 9:41 PM Subject: [htdig] converting pdf files --> pdf2html can't open the file When trying to convert a pdf file to html using the pdf2html program I get the following error:   Errror: Couldn't open file 'filename'   My pdf2html script uses the pdftotext application that comes with xpdf.  I have tested this application and it seems to convert the pdf file with no problems.   Can anyone help?    thanks!
