> I am running htdig 3.1.6 on a Sun Solaris machine. A full indexing takes about 22 hours and an incremental index (when I do it every night) tales about 4 hours. So I would like to do an incremental index every night and a full index "every once in a while". Do you have any recommendations for how often a full index should be done. > Thanks for any information. > > Malki Cymbalista > Webmaster, Weizmann Institute of Science > Rehovot, Israel 76100 > Internet: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > 08-934-3036 >
We do an incremental index early morning, Tuesday to Saturday, and a full index early Sunday morning. I find that it is important to index when network traffic is low, as this can make a big difference in elapsed time. In your case this might be a different day?
