Hello, I'm wanting to use ht://Dig to index a local file system, using the file: URL type. Unfortunately, many of the file names in the system contain spaces and the version of ht://Dig I'm using (snapshot of the 3.2.0 beta from May as compiled by RedHat for 8.0) removes the spaces so that ht://Dig can't find the files.
It seems like there's a patch against URL.cc in version 3.1.6 that allows one to specify a variable allow_space_in_url to get round this problem. ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.6/fileSpace.1 I've tried version 3.1.6, but it doesn't appear to understand the file: type of URL. I've tried compiling the latest snapshot, to see whether it now dealt with spaces in file names, but I can't get past the configure stage due to gcc-3.2's error messages and the configure script. (It fails at zlib in the db directory). So, my question is, is the fileSpace patch (or something like it that I couldn't find using grep) incorporated in the latest snapshot? If not, are there plans to include it? If there are plans to include it, how do I go about compiling ht://Dig under Redhat 8.0?
