Hey Emma Thanks for your reply, and sorry it took me so long to get back to you. In the meantime we moved the website to an all new server running Redhat 8/Apache 2, and I thought that starting with a fresh install of htdig might help, but no.
When I run: rundig -c htdig_notDevzone.conf I now get a different error:- /usr/bin/rundig: line 48: 8384 Aborted $BINDIR/htnotify $opts I know you said not to run rundig, but I thought I'd try it anyway. > Ok, for starters don't use rundig. Use each program separately. This > means: I ran the programs like you said, and I didn't get the error above, but the pages were not indexed. The OTHER .conf files I have (for other searches) work fine. So I did a diff'ed the problem file with a working one: --- begin diff ------------------------------ 18c18 < database_dir: /var/lib/htdig/db_notDevzone --- > database_dir: /var/lib/htdig/db_allDevzone 28c28,29 < start_url: http://matrix.laszlosystems.com/ --- > start_url: http://matrix.laszlosystems.com/developers/ > 51c52 < exclude_urls: /cgi-bin/ .cgi /developers/ /demos/ --- > exclude_urls: /cgi-bin/ .cgi /forums/ /bugs/ eula.php download.php 175c176 < search_results_wrapper: ${common_dir}/wrapper_global.php --- > search_results_wrapper: ${common_dir}/wrapper_devzone.php 178,180d178 < # Set the configuration directory < # < config_dir: /etc 188,189c186,190 < # Test < #minimum_word_length: 2 --- > > > # Set the configuration directory > # > config_dir: /etc 196d196 < 198,200c198 < nothing_found_file: ${common_dir}/nomatch_global.php < < --- > nothing_found_file: ${common_dir}/nomatch_devzone.php --- end diff -------------------------------- I tried renaming the config file without the underscore. > No. But try removing the _. There was no extra dot in the name. It was a period at the end of my sentence.
