I was wondering if anyone knew what the default location for htdig should be on OS X (according to Apple, that is...).
It seems to me that /Library is just as likely a place for it as anything.
My experience with OSX is rather limited, but I've noticed that it seems to like things under /Library. I've always put things under /usr/local, though, because that whole "Library" thing made my brain hurt.
Unless there's something special about htDig and OSX that I'm unaware of, you can put it where ever you want and it'll still work. Try not to put it anywhere too obscure, though.
Also, do others on the list tend to break up the installation as such? Inquiring minds want to know...
Again, that's a question of personal preference. I like having everything in /usr/local/htdig, so I don't need to worry about old files floating around after an upgrade. The exception to this is the index files, which I put under /www/sitename/data (our server has a bunch of sites running on it).
