I've just installed htdig 1.3.6 from the tar.gz downloaded from the htdig website. I have installed it on a FreeBSD 5 box (I had even tried the htdig port).
The problem is that on the initial run of rundig, I recieve the following errors:
========================= DB2 problem...: PANIC: Invalid argument DB2 problem...: /var/db/htdig/db.docdb: write failed for page 0 htdig: Unable to open/create document database '/var/db/htdig/db.docdb'
htmerge: Unable to open word list file '/var/db/htdig/db.wordlist'. Did you index anything? Check your config file and try running htdig again.
Bus error (core dumped) DB2 problem...: PANIC: Invalid argument DB2 problem...: /var/db/htdig/word2root.db: write failed for page 0 Bus error (core dumped) =========================
When I look in /var/db/htdig I see
========================= drwxrwxrwx 2 root wheel 512 Feb 5 11:00 . drwxr-xr-x 8 root wheel 512 Jan 20 17:11 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Feb 5 11:00 db.docdb -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Feb 5 11:00 db.wordlist.new -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 223338301440 Feb 5 11:00 root2word.db -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 0 Feb 5 11:00 word2root.db =========================
The /var/db/htdig directory has full RWX and I am running rundig as root.
For the sake of it, I tried simply running htdig on its own and I recieved the following error:
=========================
DB2 problem...: PANIC: Invalid argument
DB2 problem...: /var/db/htdig/db.docdb: write failed for page 0
htdig: Unable to open/create document database '/var/db/htdig/db.docdb'
=========================
The db.docdb database file is created in /var/db/htdig but it is a 0 byte file.
Why is this failing to write when I have opened up the directory completely. I appreciate any help anyone might be able to give me.
