Hi Eric,
Sounds to me as if you have differences with your locale settings.
Are there any differences between the LC_* settings in the following
files:
/etc/TIMEZONE
/etc/default/init
(Look especially for LC_LANG)
Are those LC Settings corresponding to the directory names in
/usr/share/locale?
What does your environment ("env" command) tell you?
If anything else fails, you have to use the "locale:" configuration
in your ht://Dig config to use the proper locale.
