I believe that the 'Read 8192' bit is something that htdig outputs while
chewing through files. If that is ending up in your excerpts, then it
sounds like something is wrong with your external_parsers definition. I
could also be way off since I haven't done much with external parsers or
converters. You have read through the FAQ and the documentation for the
external_parsers attribute? There is a quite a bit of info there. If you
are still stuck, you might try posting your external_parsers definition
to see if you can get some feedback on that.
