We want to migrate our htdig installation from an old Solaris machine to a Linux system. At the moment we are using htdig 3.1.6 on RH 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18, XFS and gcc 2.96. We are planning to upgrade to RH AS 3.0 in the near future.
When htdig hits the 2GB size for wordlist.work during digging or docdb.db reaches 2 GB during merge, htdig and htmerge terminate without error messages.
The kernel and the filesystem both support files > 2 GB. So this looks like a problem with htdig or db2.
Is there any solution or workaround for this problem. If this is related to db2, is it possible to replace the db2 sources from htdig with a newer version?
Thanks in advance.
Berthold
