Thanks to both of you for this reply. I was just thinking it would be 
nice to be able to pass databases back and forth between system as if 
they were HTML documents, simply by copying them... But I guess that 
their binary format is what allows them to be searched so quickly and 
so it's probably a little impractical.

As someone else has already mentioned, endian issues will prevent you 
from
copying the databases directly. However if you are using a 3.2.x 
version,
you should be able to dump, move, and reload the databases using 
htdump and
htload.
