I've found that I must either set head_before_get or persistent_connections to false.

Considering that the majority of the time I'll be doing update digs, which, in your opinion, is the better one to set to false (and why if you feel like explaining your thoughts)?

I'm leaning towards setting persistent_connections to false since the dig runs at night when there is little activity and connections are more available and a HEAD call definitely appears to be faster.
