Hello,
I am very new to htDig (as of Friday last week) and the person who managed our htDig environment is no longer here to consult with.
We have a few existing search collections which no longer work. However, I can create a new search collection running htdig and search it just fine using HTSEARCH on the unix command line. However, when I push this new collection to our web server, and run our search page, I always get "No documents found."
Does HTSEARCH get confused if the configuration file on the web server is not exactly the same as the one used to create the db's? (We run htdig on a separate server and then copy the new collections dbs to our production environment when the process of creating them is done.) Is there anything security related to having HTSEARCH run (htsearch.cgi) on the web server? The account the former person used to administer htdig has been disabled, and I've modified the scripts which run htdig to use my account for authentication during the "digging" process. However, we suspect that maybe there is something else security-wise happening on the web servers that we may not know about.
Anyway, any suggestions on where to look for problems would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Bruce DeYoung
