Hi all, a minor problem, but I thought I'd ask...
I've started using a new program to generate html files from Word
originals, and the export produces nice curly quotes, using “ and
” for double quotes, ’ for single quote apostrophe, etc.
Previously, I was making do with non-curly double quotes from " and
curly single quotes from ’
From what I can see, the new curly quotes display fine in the browsers
I've seen. But in search results from htdig, they don't come up
right--displaying as a a square box in Safari on a Mac, disappearing
altogether in IE on a Mac, etc.
Incidentally, the previously used special character for curly single
quote apostrophe (’) displayed fine in htdig results pages.
Anyone know what's up with that?

Alan
