Can't you achieve the effect you want, rather cumbersomely, thus:
{A HREF="somefile.html"}
{!--htdig_noindex--}Link text{!--/htdig_noindex--}
{/A}
{A HREF="otherfile.html"}
{!--htdig_noindex--}Other link text{!--/htdig_noindex--}
{/A}
I've replaced <> with {} for people whose email clients are too clever.
