Hi Joe, Thanks for your response. We are not currently using the -c for the default catalog, but do use -c option /home/wwwapps/htdig/conf/<catname>.conf for all our other catalogs. The databases are being rebuilt as expected.
When we run htsearch from the web, htsearch is looking for the conf file in the old location. We only became aware of this when we tidied up the old files and htsearch stopped working because the conf file was no-longer there to be read. Searching around for a reason why htsearch was not doing what it should I looked at the datestamp for the htsearch binary. It has not been updated since the re-install.
