Hello,

I was recently forced to upgrade my htdig install from 3.1.6 to 3.2.0b6 (see
other email), but I am having grave problems with 3.2.0b6:

1) Indexing seems slower.

I guess this is known, but why is it so much slower? Is it creating many
more objects? Should I create a RAM based file system for the temp area?

What is known about the slowness issue with 3.2.0b6? Are there any
workarounds?

2) Search results are radically different from what they were with 3.1.6 and
often completely irrelevant.

The configurations are the same except for the heading_factor_[1-6] changed
to a single heading_factor. I used to get very good search results from
htdig 3.1.6, but now I get the "about us" page and other not so useful
stuff. I am using the htdig_noindex tags to keep table of contents
information out of the index.

Is anyone else seeing radically different search results from htdig 3.1.6
and htdig 3.2.0b6?

Thanks for everyone's help,
