Glad to hear that option 2 worked for you - I believe
this can be problematic on some architectures.
As for option 1, you need to look at http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#url_part_aliases
and probably at: http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#url_rewrite_rules
http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#server_aliases may also be
relevant.

2) I tried indexing all the pages on other server where I have privilages and then uploaded the db files on the production server, and it works. Thanks :)
