Bernd,
In this situation I would recommend that you have two sets of databases,
and two config files; one each for Intranet and Internet. It does not
sound like that is what you are doing, not least because then I don't
think you could manage to create the problem you describe. This does not
require you to have two installations of htdig, just two copies of some
of the configuration.
