I think that the htmerge functionality was built in to one of the other apps (htdig?) for 3.2.x. In my 3.1.6 install, rundig does call htmerge. It calls it after it runs htdig. http://www.htdig.org/dev/htdig-3.2/all.html calls htmerge "largely unnecessary" now and that it is now for merging two existing databases together; in previous versions (such as the one I'm using) it also was the final step to making a database; but as you note, that's handled by htdig in 3.2. http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg08745.html On the release notes for 3.2.0b3 (http://www.htdig.org/dev/htdig-3.2/RELEASE.html ) it says: "Please note if you are updating from a prior release (3.1 or 3.2), the htmerge program has changed syntax as noted below. You will probably want to change your behavior to call htpurge instead of htmerge after htdig as noted below."
