Actually I consulted for some folks looking for a similar thing. I
suggested setting up multiple config files and databases for each category.
The shell scripts in contrib/multidig/ were the result (they need some
minor cleanups for 3.1.0).
This is becoming a FAQ, so perhaps we want to improve support for this in
the next release.
