As Geoff mentioned, it's probably a corrupt database. It appears that
Mindspring is running a much older version of htdig than the current
release. They seem to have an older 3.0 beta (though I couldn't determine
exactly which one). The current release is 3.1.2, and it contains loads
of bug fixes, including some to solve problems with database corruption
that older versions had.

You may want to try to convince Mindspring to make the newer version
available. If they do, be aware that it's database format is incompatible
with older versions, so anyone who upgrades will need to rebuild their
database.
