One additional question from my htdig co-workers : will libunicode and
glibc-2.1 iconv merge or share efforts in some way ? I understand that
libunicode uses iconv if available (glibc-2.1 or Solaris or ?). I can
rephrase the question in another way : at present libunicode contains less
translation tables than glibc-2.1 iconv and this can be a motive for us
to chose to take glibc-2.1 iconv and transform it into a standalone library
instead of using libunicode. There are maybe other motives to do this although
I don't see them at present. Can you give us an advice about that ?
