Ciao my friends,
I am real sorry because my job duties have changed in the last few
weeks. Y2K is coming, and with it many troubles (probably neglected before)
have come up. And so my ht://check has been delayed; I don't think I will
be able to work at it til the new year. I am very disappointed ...
Therefore, even HtHTTP stuff will suffer for this ... Any way it is sure
that if I had the chance to work for it in my little sparetime, I will do.
I also want to ask you a technical thing, that has nothing to do with
htdig: here we are going to start to develop with Informix Databases and so
with related API and we need to install it on a Linux OS platform. My
directors proposed to use a multiprocessor station, which let us take many
performance advantages (and my htdig search engine will be placed there).
My question is: "Are you experienced in multiprocessors with Linux? Is it a
'real' multi-processing system, or for example a processor is dedicated to
a precise task? If possible, will RedHat Linux be alright?"
Thanks a lot, my dear "talponi" and talk to you soon (well, I hope)
Ciao
