I was thinking contrib/examples, but yes, some of that stuff will have to
go in the docs. His patches are part of the code, but using multiple
databases is totally optional. The code should work with existing config
files, but his example config files for multiple collections are, IMHO,
contributed examples.

If there's only a few, and they're clearly labelled .sample, I don't have
a problem with this.
