This is very good news. It sounds like there are two reliable US-based
possibilities (Evoke and SourceForge). It sounds like we can also get some
mirrors set up, both in the US and in Europe.

If we go this route, I'll see what I can do for a server--I think I can
get a donation. You (and Contigo) have been more than generous over the

Hmm. This is not so good news. While I've been a lousy root on the current
box, I can think of several reasons to need some sort of shell access for
things like snapshot scripts, updating the copy of h://Dig on the machine
itself, etc. I also use shell access to add new CVS users. It's not
critical since almost everything is by CVS, but when it's needed, it's
needed.
