I'd be interested in seeing the patch. However, since the output is 
very easy to configure (and normally w/o patching), I don't know that 
the very next release will go to XHTML. But yes, at some point, 
ht://Dig output will be XHTML compliant. (Just as the HTML parser 
will support XHTML as well.)
