I was really worried that this might happen.  I think it's a SysV
vs. BSD thing.  Yes, we should add a test for this.  Could one of the
autoconf-savvy developers do this before the 3.2.0b3 release, please?
I might be able to figure it out, but I think someone else could do this
quicker than I could.
