[htdig] How to Unzip source code

Hi,
I have started the installation of the Search Engine & have run into
some problems tring to unzip the source code with tool (gnu) that is
recomended on the web page (htDig). What do I need to unzip the code I
have it in unix which I think is where all developer's have it?
