We use htdig 3.1.3 running on AIX 4.3.2 as the main search engine for
our campus web pages (http://www.ucalgary.ca/UofC/search_tools.html). It
runs quite successfully.
However, I get many error reports from users accessing the search
engines through ISPs outside the ucalgary.ca domain. The message is:
----------------
ht://Dig error
htsearch detected an error. Please report this to the webmaster of this
site. The error message is:
Unable to read word database file '/Web/utils/htdig/db/db.words.db'
Did you run htmerge?
----------------
In our setup, htdig/htmerge does not create the file
'/Web/utils/htdig/db/db.words.db'.
Should there be such a file? How is it built?
Is there a reason why errors should arise from off-campus ISPs?
Thanks.
