I would guess that the NT version of Acroread does not allow
conversion to PostScript. Thus I would suggest using the package
xpdf: <http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/>
You probably want to use this method instead of pdf_parser with the
xpdf package: <http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q4.9>
