In short: I don't know.  :)

It looks like Adobe doesn't have a Acrobat Reader for BSDI.  I'd contact
their tech support team and ask them.  (The techie guy here suggests
*maybe* compiling the Linux version on a Linux machine, and then running it
in Linux compatability-mode on your BSDI box.  But don't hold your breath.)

Alternatively, I think there are other PDF parsers around, besides Adobe's.

Anyway, email Adobe and ask them what to do.


MAILING LIST: Please ... The info I provided was *all* I know about
configuring htdig to support PDF files.  I can't help with compile problems
or anything other than what's in the readme.  Sorry - I'm just not
technical.  I found the patches (just like you) and installed them myself
without a problem.  Maybe other people on the list can provide better
support ... in fact I know they can.
