Hi. We're having some problems building the make files on our solaris
2.5.1 machine (sparc). We tried first ./configure which wasn't working,
then sh configure and ran into the same problem. The output is given
below:

/home/support/htdig-3.1.0b1> sh configure
creating cache ./config.cache
configuring HTDig version 3.1.0b1
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no
checking whether we are using GNU C... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create
executables.
/home/support/htdig-3.1.0b1>

We tried changing the configure script to use g++ over c++, but we still
got the same message. Is there a way to specify using gcc instead?
(And preferably without hacking the configure script?)

Do we have to resort to building the actual makefile and conf.h files
myself? If so, how would we go about doing that?

Thanks,
Chris
