The fields are part of the database. So you'll need to hack the
htcommon/Database* files, the htdig/Retriever.*, possibly the parsers
(certainly htdig/HTML.cc) and htsearch/Display.cc.

It's not a trivial task, but it can be done. Look for the stuff on MetaDSC
(meta descriptions), which was recently added.
