The ht://Dig code does not directly support HTTPS. For a long time this
was simply because it could not do so legally in the U.S. There will
probably be support at some point in the 3.2 code, though this does not
exist at the moment.

A patch exists to the 3.1.x code to use the OpenSSL library to support
HTTPS. This can be found at <ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/>
