Hello, You can address this problem (like we do) with a mix of <TMPL_VAR> tags and <base> attributes.
First, by using a standard <TMPL_VAR> to store the URL. We call this variable "ACTION" to match the XHTML <FORM> attribute, and if the HTML::Template's consumer application uses 'https://www.ourserver.com/perl/fun.pl' for ACTION, then all forms and links point to the SSL target. For relative links, XHTML provides a tag called <base> which allows you to specify a special location to reference all relative paths from. By setting <base href=""> to a https:// URL instead of an http:// URL the site's images, CSS, ect are all fetched via a secure link (all in the template here, unless you use another <TMPL_VAR> to store the href to use, like we do). I would like to use the same templates on SSL enabled pages, but of course any nested templates, images, included files, etc. need to be referenced via https as well. Every solution I'm thinking of seems kind of ugly :-) Regards, Andrew ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
