Sometime Today, Jesse Erlbaum assembled some asciibets to say:

well make that four, since the guy who did the PHP one has also done a
python one, available at the same place.

well, H.T.j supports almost everything that HTML::Template does.
die_on_bad_params is not done, and neither are the caching directives.
Also, error reporting isn't all that good yet.

Performance wise, I wouldn't rate it very highly.  I'm not really a java
programmer, just a perl programmer who had to write in java.
HTML.Template made it easy for me to not have to write too much java.

Right now I'm thinking about filters, but thinking is all it's limited
to.
