Ralf,

First of all I must plead completely ignorant about PayPal but I _assume_ PayPal
services may be accessed outside a servlet container. Whether that makes any
sense conceptually is a whole different story. Currently all sample apps shipped
with HttpClient can be compiled using requisite dependencies only (Java 1.2,
commons-logging and commons-codec) and I would like to keep it that way. I
personally do not find it reasonable to introduce Servlet API, Struts and Log4j
as project dependencies just to be able to showcase PayPal API.

Probably HttpClient Wiki may be a better home for this code if you think the
removal of Servlet and struts references makes the sample pointless

Oleg
