HttpClient does not support HTTP pipelining. It can't pipeline several requests over the same connection. It just can't. However, it does seem so that the target server mistakenly sends several responses over the same connection. I strongly suspect a server-side bug. The web server you are using is not particularly up to date. Not to mention that ApacheJServ is now long defunct and has not been supported for years: Apache/1.3.11 (Unix) ALCATEL OSP FEPHTTP (mod_in)/1.0.004 ApacheJServ/1.1 mod_ssl/2.5.0 OpenSSL/0.9.4 Is there any chance you could test against a more up to date server stack?
