RFC 2109, section 4.3.1: Path Defaults to the path of the request URL that generated the Set-Cookie response, up to, but not including, the right-most /. I believe the RFC2109 spec handles such cookies correctly. The so called popular browsers tend to have fairly dodgy ways of handling cookies. We can consider changing the browser compatibility spec, though, if other browsers such as IE exhibit the same problem.
