Harm,

That's interesting. I wasn't aware of the possibility to pass authentication
information to the actual host this way. Is this a proxy standard or a
proprietary extension? Does it only  work for FTP URLs? Even more interesting I
find the fact that you are using a proxy as a bridge between FTP and HTTP. As a
work-around, supply the authentication information as a HTTP header instead. But
I am not sure if this works for your FTP URL.
