Could you be a bit more specific about your environment? Michelle has recently reported a similar problem with the IBM JVM on Windows Vista. http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/jakarta-httpclient-user/200703.mbox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] AFAIK, the IBM JVM is not yet officially supported on Vista, and this might be one of the reasons.
