I think the default for the timeout is "no timeout". You can look it up somewhere in the client parameters: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/apidocs/org/apache/commons/httpclient/params/HttpClientParams.html#CONNECTION_MANAGER_TIMEOUT hope that helps, Roland
