Stupid question: What is wrong with JMeter? You can pick HttpClient 3
and 4 for your HTTP load tests. I was quite happy this year with JMeter
test plans.

Simply that I didn't know much about it.

Having looked at it, I see that it provides me with some nice graphical capabilities, which I don't need. In return for this, I would have to adapt to the ways of JMeter and learn how to handle things like parsing the replies for errors of one sort or another, passing parameters from response 1 to request 2, etc. This is all developed already in java, and it doesn't seem that JMeter gives me anything other than the graphics.

It might be worth my time though, to look at the JMeter source code to see how IT interacts with HttpClient, which might provide the answer to my question.

Thanks,
Steve
