Post redirect behavior in 5.4

Hi,
I migrated httpClient to 5.4 from 4.5 and see a difference in post redirect 
behavior. In 4.5, a post request does not automatically follow a 302 response 
but it seems to do so in 5.4. Is this intended? It is not documented in the 
migration guide. How do I get back the 4.5 behavior?
