the actual approval without problems in December.

just after getting started, while still moving, seems
like a very bad idea to me.

I do not think this analogy is very accurate. We have someone with
experience of running a very diverse and troublesome LTP offering a
helping hand. It's an offer we _should_ not reject.
The sooner this whole soap drama is over, the sooner we can go back to
doing things that truly matter, like writing code, the better. It is all
getting truly grotesque.
