Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI: Confirmed Bug description: The Fast preview is not suitable for HDR. Apparently those reading the mailing lists would know this, but I didn't: I found out when the preferences window reminded me. When HDR images are detected (very close roll, pitch and yaw numbers?
